Preseason results don't mean anything — that's what you're supposed to say. Try telling that to anyone who watched Leeds put four past Augsburg on Saturday.
It capped a genuinely useful pre-season. A 2-0 win over RB Leipzig at the start of August. A spirited 1-1 draw with Manchester United, undone only on penalties (5-4, since you're asking — and yes, they needed them, against a promoted side half the country had already written off for August). And now a 4-0 win over Augsburg to send the squad into the new season with some momentum, not just fitness in the legs.
None of it decides anything — Leeds know that better than most, after enough false dawns to fill a season ticket's worth of forewords. But there's a difference between hollow preseason results and performances that actually look like something, and this pre-season leaned toward the second one.
It's also, conveniently, given us an excuse to open the shop properly. First up: an EverythingLUFC 5 Panel Cap and a White Glossy Mug — both carrying our own crest rather than borrowing anyone else's, because if we're doing this blog and this shop, we wanted something that was ours from day one.

Nottingham Forest away on the 22nd is up next, and it's the one that actually counts. Preseason form or not, that's when we'll know something real.
