Player Ratings: Leeds United 4-1 Newcastle United

EverythingLUFC player ratings graphic: Leeds United 4-1 Newcastle United

Four goals, one home banker of a performance, and Newcastle given absolutely no way back in. This was Leeds at their most complete this season — good from back to front, and full of individual displays worth writing home about. Here's how the EverythingLUFC ratings landed.

The goal-getting was shared out nicely too: Ao Tanaka's shot did enough to force the opener into an own goal, Jayden Bogle got the second despite barely touching it, Dominic Calvert-Lewin bagged the third after setting up the second, and Noah Okafor capped it with a left-footed volley that deserves its own highlight reel.

STARTING XI

James Trafford — 6
A couple of moments where he was fortunate not to be caught in possession, but nothing that cost the clean sheet on the scoreboard.

Jayden Bogle — 9 ⭐ Star man
An outstanding afternoon. Relentless down the right, excellent defensively, and somehow walked away with a goal he barely got a touch on.

James Justin — 8
Whipped in the cross that led to the second and struck a good balance between pushing forward and holding his defensive shape.

Nico Elvedi — 8
Battled hard all afternoon and never looked flustered, on the ball or off it.

Tarik Muharemovic — 8
Won his individual battles up front, made it all look easy in possession, and had a hand in the third with a clever flick.

Gabriel Gudmundsson — 8
Combined really well down the left with Okafor and got forward at every opportunity.

Ethan Ampadu — 8
Dominated the midfield battle and kept the tempo exactly where Leeds wanted it.

Ao Tanaka — 8.5
Pulling the strings all game, and his shot did enough to force the own goal that got Leeds up and running, even if it isn't officially his.

Anton Stach — 7.5
His deliveries were excellent and he looked closer to his best than we've seen so far this season — should have had a goal of his own early in the second half.

Noah Okafor — 8.5
A nightmare for the Newcastle backline every time he touched it. Set up Tanaka's effort for the opener, then finished it himself with a brilliant left-footed volley for the fourth.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin — 8.5
Set up the second, then finished the third himself in clinical fashion. A properly complete performance.

SUBS

Harry Wilson — 6.5
Cleared his fair share and whipped in a good ball of his own that was headed just wide.

Brenden Aaronson — 5.5
Found some decent pockets of space but didn't do a great deal with them.

Melvin Bard — 6
A great last-ditch tackle, though caught upfield out of position a couple of times.

Lukas Nmecha — 6
Made himself a nuisance in the box in the closing stages and gave the Newcastle defence something else to think about late on.

Star man, no arguments: Jayden Bogle, 9 out of 10 for a display that had everything — and a goal he'll take all day, however it actually went in.
